2nd Annual NALS Conference in York highlights industry challenges
The second annual NALS York Conference took place at the Royal York Hotel on Wednesday 15th March.
Some 60 plus delegates heard from a wide variety of speakers, including the Home Office and Westminster Trading Standards.
The theme of the Conference was "Knowledge and Innovation".
Conference Chair Kate Faulkner gave an overview of the proceedings and key issues that were raised including that increasingly onerous legislation was an opportunity for lettings agents to take on more landlords on a fully managed basis:
Giles Speid of Westminster Trading Standards was keen for agents to work with TS to help regulate the sector and identify rogue agents in their area:
You can find more speaker interviews on our YouTube Conference Playlist, including Glyn Trott of Pinnacle Lettings, John Midgley of SAFEagent, Robert Bolwell of Dutton Gregory Solicitors, David Hadden of Endsleigh Insurance, Micheal Collinge of NAPIT, and Sheila Drew-Smith, Chair of NALS.
Isobel Thomson, NALS CEO commented:
“We were delighted with the feedback we received from both delegates and speakers on what was a really interactive event.
It is clear that agents are united in wanting to ensure that the message gets across to consumers that they are in safe hands when dealing with a NALS agent.
Too often a negative judgement is made on the sector based on the reputation of a few when the majority are fully committed to delivering a good service. We will continue to support our agents with similar events and by enhancing our training offering.”
NALS would also like to thank our sponsors Endsleigh Insurance, for their kind support of this event.
